Georgina is a fully qualified, registered clinical dietitian/nutritionist with a first class-honours degree from The University of Nottingham.
Her love for nutrition started from an early age as a teenage dancer. With her demanding dance schedule she knew that fueling her body was key. Between wanting to gain muscle for strength while maintaining a lean figure, she realized that her strategy was leading to unsustainable food habits and her definition of “health” wasn’t actually “healthy.” That’s when she decided to LEARN. She started reading about the science behind food and health and decided to turn this interest into a well-informed career!
Lots of school and experience, taught her how the body works and completely transformed her mentality towards food and wellness. While taking control of her eating habits and experimenting with whole foods to create healthy, nutritious and delicious recipes, she completely freed herself from the all-consuming obsession with food, and finally found balance.
She is here to help you achieve the same!
When it comes to nutrition and healthy eating there is so much noise and public confusion! The truth is that everyone has a different opinion and they want to share it, creating the belief that if something works for one person it will automatically work for everyone! This leads me to one of my strongest food philosophies that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. A diet or way of eating that works for me and my lifestyle may not be the best for you and this is what I keep in mind when working with my clients. My goal in both my practice and my Instagram blog is to help people understand the importance of sustainability. For me the best diet is the one you will stick with in the long-term and the one that helps both your physical and mental health.
The things I believe benefit most people are balance. I truly encourage the 80/20 approach. Eat nourishing wholefoods mostly to feel good but do enjoy all of your favourite indulgences in moderation. Just let go of restriction, guilt and deprivation.
We should be flexible and allow ourselves to enjoy social occasions and have a healthy mindset around food. I aim for my clients to feel better after eating than before.
This leads me to another food philosophy that healthy food is delicious. This is one of the main reasons I started @gt.health. I wanted to show people that healthy food can be equally tasty and enjoyable making you feel good from the inside out!
